[EToday] Dr. Do Eon-rok, Director of 1mm Plastic Surgery Clinic, Invited Lecture by the Daejeon-Chungcheong Branch of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons
Dr. Do Eon-rok, Director of 1mm Plastic Surgery Clinic, participated as an invited speaker in the 2019 Daejeon-Chungcheong Branch Academic Symposium of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, held at Dankook University Hospital on the 19th of last month. This academic symposium is a gathering where domestic plastic surgeons attend to share clinical experiences regarding various plastic surgery methods.
Dr. Do Eon-rok, who was invited as a speaker in the field of eye surgery on this day, gave a presentation on the topic of 'Practical Lateral Canthoplasty (Eye Surgery: Lateral Canthoplasty, Lateral Canthoplasty).' During the lecture, he presented a surgical method that is highly effective while minimizing side effects, and shared his extensive clinical know-how, receiving a great response from the attendees and being awarded a certificate of appreciation by the organizers.
Director Do stated, “Caution is required regarding lateral canthoplasty, as serious side effects can occur depending on the surgical method and the location of the incision. Most lateral canthoplasty surgeries currently in vogue involve fixation to the periosteum. Therefore, an appropriate surgical method must be selected by considering the individual’s unique eyelid shape, eye position, and facial bone condition,” adding, “This conference was a meaningful opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions with various members regarding the latest surgical techniques and clinical cases of lateral canthoplasty.”
Meanwhile, Director Do is engaged in continuous academic activities as an academic committee member of the Oculoplastic Surgery Research Group of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, through invited lectures and surgical demonstrations at domestic and international academic conferences.
