Dr. Do Eon-rok of 1mm Plastic Surgery (representatives Do Eon-rok and Kim Hyung-seok) attended the '2020 Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons Conference (PRS KOREA 2020)' as a panel speaker in the eye surgery section and conducted presentations and discussions.

This academic symposium was held as an online conference for three days from the 13th to the 15th under the theme 'Way to Innovation'. Each session involved the joint participation of five out of 15 research societies under the Korean Academy of Craniofacial Plastic Surgery and the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and presentation times were arranged to allow overseas speakers to participate without time zone restrictions.

On the 14th, the second day of the academic conference, Director Do Eon-rok of 1mm Plastic Surgery participated as a panelist in the eye surgery section titled 'The Newly Update of Cosmetic Lateral Canthoplasty.' On this day, Director Do presented on the updated concept of lateral canthoplasty under the theme of 'Primary cosmetic lateral canthoplasty.'

Director Do Eon-rok stated, “Lateral canthoplasty has the potential to cause complications such as U-shaped deformity, eyelash loss, conjunctival exposure, eyelid inversion, dry eye, and scarring, so we have been striving to minimize these risks.” He added, “Existing lateral canthoplasty methods fix the position of the new outer corner of the eye to the periosteum, but the surgical method being announced uses the ligaments around the eye, which are softer than the periosteum, as the fixation point, so we can expect to minimize various side effects caused by lateral canthoplasty.”

Director Do added his thoughts on the event, stating, “This international academic conference was a meaningful occasion to share knowledge on the latest trends and academic achievements in domestic and international plastic surgery across various fields, not just eye surgery.”

Meanwhile, Do Eon-rok, Representative Director of 1mm Plastic Surgery Clinic, serves as an Academic Committee Member of the Eye Surgery Research Group of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and is consistently engaged in academic activities through invited lectures at domestic and international conferences and live surgeries.
