Dr. Do Eon-rok, Director of 1mm Plastic Surgery, was appointed as a speaker at the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery 2021 International Conference of the Korean Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Korean Society of Plastic Surgeons and shared his academic insights.
At the International Congress of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (APS 2021), held as a Live Virtual Meeting at COEX in Seoul, Director Do Eon-rok gave a lecture on the topic of "Round Table Session (Blepharoplasty): Medial Epicanthoplasty in Detail and Relationship with Double-fold Line."
The International Congress of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons is an annual academic conference where renowned scholars from around the world and various fields of plastic surgery gather to present clinical results. It is a significant event that provides the latest technologies and theories to improve current techniques and outcomes. This year, due to COVID-19, the conference was held as a hybrid webinar (web + seminar), combining both online and in-person sessions.
The 'Roundtable' session of APS 2021 was conducted in a format where three panel speakers each presented on a topic and debated with one another, broadcasting the scene live to viewers while sharing various questions and answers related to the topic with the audience in real time.
With overseas and domestic plastic surgeons in attendance, Director Do Eon-rok of 1mm Plastic Surgery gave a presentation on the topics of epicanthoplasty and upper eyelid surgery.
Director Do Eon-rok shared his clinical know-how while introducing surgical techniques for epicanthoplasty and upper eyelid surgery that effectively eliminate epicanthal folds while minimizing scarring. He presented his insights and case studies on trendy eye surgery designs recently desired by patients to the plastic surgeon specialists.
Director Do Eon-rok emphasized, “Patients’ demands for double eyelid lines, such as in-line, in-out, and out-line, are becoming more diverse,” adding, “Since additional procedures like upper eyelid surgery or medial canthoplasty are important for the surgical outcome, not just the double eyelid surgery itself, a comprehensive approach is necessary to create a natural and safe line.”
Meanwhile, Director Do Eon-rok also attended 'PRS KOREA 2020,' the annual academic conference of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, as a speaker and presented new information on lateral canthoplasty under the theme of 'Primary cosmetic lateral canthoplasty.'
In addition, as an academic committee member of the Oculoplastic Surgery Research Group of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, he continues to engage in academic exchange activities through invited lectures and live surgical demonstrations at domestic and international conferences every year.
