[BioTimes] Dr. Do Eon-rok of 1mm Plastic Surgery attended the 16th Academic Symposium of the Society of Oculoplastic Surgery held at Maria Hall, Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, Seocho-gu, Seoul, and gave an academic presentation.
This symposium was held to promote the latest research and development in the field of eye surgery and took place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with over 600 plastic surgeons and residents participating to discuss various topics.
The Oculoplastic Surgery Research Society, a research group under the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, is an organization composed of board-certified plastic surgeons that aims for intensive research and development in the field of oculoplastic surgery.
Director Do Eon-rok gave a presentation at the symposium on the topic of "Eyelid Lifting via Sub-brow Incision" (Sub-brow Lift). Sub-brow lift is a surgical method that naturally resolves sagging skin while maintaining the original shape of the eyelids, making it an effective procedure for patients who wish to preserve their natural eye shape but seek to address sagging above the eyes.
In his presentation, Director Do explained in detail a method to maximize the lifting effect on the front of the double eyelid by widening the incision forward of the eyebrow, as well as a technique to prevent eyebrow sagging by manipulating the depressor muscle. This technical approach received a great response from the attendees.
Director Do Eon-rok stated, "1mm Plastic Surgery's eyebrow lift is an anti-aging surgical method that can benefit patients with various needs, such as those who want to correct eyelid sagging but find double eyelid surgery or forehead lifts burdensome, or those who desire a faster recovery than with double eyelid surgery." He added, "We will continue to strive to introduce even more advanced surgical techniques through ongoing research and technological development."
